An old hot tub that no longer heats, leaks, or just takes up half the patio is one of the most awkward things a homeowner can try to get rid of. It is too big for a trash cart and too heavy to drag to the curb. Placer Dumpster Rental and Junk Removal is a locally owned junk removal and dumpster company in Rocklin, serving Roseville, Lincoln and the rest of South Placer and Sacramento counties. We do the loading, and you get a price before any work begins.
Call or text (916) 878-0304 with a few photos of the hot tub and where it sits. We answer 7:00am–9:00pm, seven days a week.
How hot tub removal pricing works
Hot tub removal falls under our junk removal service, which uses the same simple pricing model for every job:
- Priced by volume. You pay for the space the load takes up in our 15 cubic yard trailer.
- $150 minimum, the smallest job we bill
- $500 for half of our 15-yard trailer
- $900 for a full 15-yard trailer
- Loading and labor included.
- No item-specific surcharges. We do not add separate fees for awkward or bulky pieces.
- Price first. Because every job is different, we quote your specific job, and nothing is loaded until you agree.
Photos help a lot. Send pictures of the tub, the cover, the path from the tub to the driveway (gates, steps, side yards), and anything else you would like hauled at the same visit.
Getting ready for removal
A few things make removal day go smoothly:
- Disconnect the power. Have the electrical supply to the spa safely shut off and disconnected before we arrive. If you are not sure how, use a licensed electrician.
- Drain the tub. An empty tub is far lighter and easier to move.
- Clear the path. Open gates and move patio furniture, planters or vehicles between the tub and the driveway.
- Mention the extras. Steps, covers, cover lifters, old decking or surrounding patio furniture can go in the same load. One visit costs less than two.
Add the rest of the backyard
Many hot tub removals turn into a full backyard refresh. Our junk removal takes yard debris (branches, leaves, brush and clippings), old furniture, and construction and remodel debris such as wood and flooring. All of it is priced by volume with the same three prices: $150 minimum, $500 for a half trailer, $900 for a full trailer.
If you are also tearing out the concrete pad the tub sat on, that is heavy material with its own container. Clean concrete goes in our concrete and dirt dumpster, one clean material per load, with a 5 cubic yard load limit and no dump fees. Rebar is fine when it sticks out no more than 6 inches.
Prefer to do the demolition yourself?
If you plan to cut up the tub and the surrounding deck yourself over a weekend, a standard dumpster may be the better fit. Our 10, 12 and 15 yard dumpsters take most household and construction debris, including wood, and include delivery, pick-up and 1 ton of disposal. See pricing, or call and tell us about the project so we can recommend a size.
What we cannot take
Paint, solvents, gasoline, hazardous waste, car batteries, railroad ties and telephone poles. Leftover spa chemicals count as hazardous, so please keep them out of the load. If you are unsure, ask before the appointment.
