Stanford Ranch is Rocklin’s large, established master-planned community. It was developed beginning in the 1980s and mixes neighborhoods, parks, schools and shopping. Many of its homes are now 25 to 40 years old, and that age drives most of the dumpster rentals we see here: first-time kitchen and bath remodels, roof replacements, and fence and deck rebuilds. Every rental includes delivery, pick-up and 1 ton of disposal. Extra weight is $110 per ton, prorated. Extra days are $50 each, and a full 7-day dumpster rental is $599 (10 yard), $649 (12 yard) or $699 (15 yard).
Sizing the common Stanford Ranch projects
- Kitchen or bath remodel: a 12 yard is the size most contractors default to for mid-size renovation debris such as cabinets, drywall, flooring and fixtures.
- Roof tear-off: shingles are heavy. A 12 yard handles many residential tear-offs, and a 15 yard gives more room before extra tonnage charges kick in. See our roofing dumpster page.
- Fence and deck replacement: old wood fencing and decking usually fit a 10 yard.
- Whole-house refresh before selling: carpet, fixtures and garage clutter usually call for a 15 yard.
- Driveway or patio tear-out: use the concrete and dirt dumpster, one clean material per load, with no dump fees.
Weight matters more in older homes
Layered flooring, tile and plaster add weight quickly. A box can look half empty and still be over its included ton. Overage is $110 per ton, prorated, so a small overage costs a small amount, but it helps to know before you load. If you’re unsure, call and describe the project.
Multi-week remodels
You can book up to 7 days online, and a full 7-day rental is $599 (10 yard), $649 (12 yard) or $699 (15 yard). If the box fills mid-project, additional loads are $349 for a 10 yard, $399 for a 12 yard and $449 for a 15 yard, and each includes its own 1 ton. For longer rentals, call or text (916) 878-0304.
Permits and HOAs
On your own driveway, Rocklin does not require a permit. Rocklin’s encroachment permit page lists “parking a dumpster in the street” as one of the examples that need a permit. You apply through the City’s eTRAKiT online portal and submit the application form, the permit fee, two copies of plans, and approved insurance forms (public and auto liability with minimum limits under Municipal Code §12.04.060).
